New studio at the deYoung unleashes kids' creativity

Where will the next design breakthrough come from? Maybe the de Youngster’s Studio.

Art galleries are usually hands-off zones. But at the de Young Museum’s new de Youngsters Studio, children are encouraged to touch, explore and create. Designed by Yves Béhar’s Fuseproject and realized by Tellart, five activity stations incorporate technology like touchscreens and cameras that let kids virtually place their masterpieces on the museum’s walls. Admission is free, but sparking imaginations will reap dividends for years to come. 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive, San Francisco, 415.750.3600
